About Sigma Learning Center
Founded in 2012, Sigma Learning Center provides personalized academic tutoring and test preparation for middle and high school students across the Missouri City, Sugar Land, and greater Houston communities.
We believe that every student has the ability to succeed when given the right guidance, instruction, and support. Rather than focusing purely on memorizing formulas or finishing assignments, our core mission is to help students build a deep, genuine understanding of mathematics and science.
Our Philosophy
Education shouldn’t be one-size-fits-all. We take the time to understand how each student thinks, what their unique challenges are, and where they want to grow.
Fostering Independence: We want our students to become logical, confident, and independent thinkers who know how to approach complex problems on their own.
Embracing Challenges: We value academic integrity and encourage students to lean into difficult subjects rather than shy away from them.
Building Lasting Skills: Our goal goes beyond grades and test scores. We want students to leave with critical-thinking skills and resilience that serve them through high school, college, and beyond.
Meet the Founder
Sigma Learning Center was founded by Mary Panam, who holds a Master’s degree in Applied Physics and brings a lifelong passion for science and education to her work.
With a background in optics and advanced physics—combined with decades of experience educating students and homeschooling her own three sons—Mary realized that every student learns differently. Some need concepts explained from a fresh angle, some need to rebuild foundational skills, and others thrive when challenged far beyond the traditional classroom. Sigma Learning Center's was built reflecting this ideology.
What We Offer
STEM Mastery: Comprehensive instruction in mathematics and science, ranging from foundational coursework to advanced subjects like Calculus BC and AP Physics.
Test Preparation: Specialized SAT preparation and long-standing support for high-achieving students preparing for the National Merit Scholarship Competition.
Flexible Learning: Group and private classes available both onsite and online to accommodate busy family schedules.
